These are the course notes for Georgia Tech’s MATH 1554 Linear Algebra used during the Fall 2026 semester. They were originally written during Spring 2026. Updates may happen throughout the semester.
The notes are organized by chapter and section. Each section is it’s own HTML page that can be navigated to by using the links below or by using the Contents panel on the left. To return to this page, click the large "MATH 1554 Course Notes - Fall 2026" link at the top of any page.
The notes are written in PreTeXt which is a markup language that will meet the upcoming Title II compliancy requirements for Web Content. The notes are intended to be used as guided notes. You can get a PDF of each section’s notes by navigating to the HTML page and clicking the printer icon in the top right. This will generate a PDF containing the same content as the webpage, but with spaces inserted to allow for notetaking.
Solutions will be posted to each section’s notes soon after covering that content in class. You can view the solutions, answers, and proofs by expanding the section under exercises, problems, and theorems. The solutions are best viewed in the webpage format. If you try to view the solutions in the PDF format, it will usually cause spacing issues and content will run off the page. You can turn off solutions in the PDF version by chicking the Hide Solutions box in the Additional Printing Options at the top of the Print Preview.
